Community guidelines
Overview
Our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. We aspire to unlock human imagination by enabling creative expression and being a source of entertainment and enrichment everywhere. We welcome people from around the world, as they come to Yumify to discover a diversity of ideas, creators, and products, and to connect with others in our community. To help ensure a safe, trustworthy, and vibrant experience, we maintain a set of Community Guidelines that include rules and standards for using Yumify. The guidelines apply to everyone and everything on our platform. They are informed by international legal frameworks, industry best practices, and input from our community, safety and public health experts, and our regional Advisory Councils. We evolve them to address emerging risks and potential harms that may occur from new behaviors. Our approach to content moderation is built on four pillars:
- Remove violative content from the platform that breaks our rules
- Age-restrict mature content so it is only viewed by adults (18 years and older)
- Maintain eligibility standards to help ensure any content that may be promoted by our recommendation system is appropriate for a broad audience
- Empower our community with information, tools and resources
Our guidelines are organized by topic area, with each rule in bold. Under each section you can click for more information where you can find definitions, specific examples, and clarifications to common questions about what is allowed. Please be aware that the examples do not cover everything (we note this upfront so you donโt have to repeatedly read the phrase โincluding, but not limited toโ). If you are ever in doubt about what to share, keep in mind this core value, โbe kind and treat others the way that you would want to be treated.โ

Keeping our community both safe and vibrant requires finding the right balance between enabling expression and preventing harm. We do this through a mix of safety approaches, from developing rules and standards that we enforce, to build platform norms and resources that give our community members more agency and choice.
- Remove violative content. Everyone joins Yumify with the ability to freely share content on our platform. However, we have rules regarding harmful content that we do not allow. We seek to remove any content, whether publicly posted or private, that violates our rules. Although we work hard to enforce our rules, we cannot guarantee that all content shared on Yumify complies with our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines. If someone has severe or repeated violations, we will also ban the account.
- Age-restrict mature content. The breadth of content that is shared on Yumify is vast, which adds to the rich diversity of the experience. However, not all of it may be suitable for younger audiences. We limit overtly mature content so it is only viewed by adults 18 years and older. A summary of age-restricted content can be found here.
- Maintain eligibility standards. These offer an opportunity for viewers to discover new content and for creators to reach new audiences. But promotion by our recommendation system is not guaranteed. Content that is not appropriate for a broad audience will be ineligible for the Yumify platform.
- Empower our community. We want to make sure you have the right information to help you manage your experience on Yumify. For certain content, we add labels, โopt-inโ screens, or warnings to provide more context or notice. Our safety toolkit helps you to filter out any content with specific hashtags or comments that you are not comfortable seeing. We also offer account controls and in-app features with safety resources.
Violent and Criminal Behaviour
We aim to prevent potential offline harm that may be related to content on Yumify. While we understand that people commonly express disdain or disagreement by threatening or calling for violence in non-serious ways, we remove language that incites or facilitates serious violence. We remove content, disable accounts and work with law enforcement when we believe there is a genuine risk of physical harm or direct threats to public safety. We also try to consider the language and context in order to distinguish casual statements from content that constitutes a credible threat to public or personal safety. In determining whether a threat is credible, we may also consider additional information such as a person's public visibility and the risks to their physical safety.
In some cases, we see aspirational or conditional threats directed at terrorists and other violent actors (e.g. "Terrorists deserve to be killed"), and we deem those non-credible, absent specific evidence to the contrary.

In an effort to prevent and disrupt real-world harm, we do not allow organisations or individuals that proclaim a violent mission or are engaged in violence to have a presence on Yumify. We assess these entities based on their behaviour both online and offline โ most significantly, their ties to violence. Under this policy, we designate individuals, organisations and networks of people. These designations are divided into three tiers that indicate the level of content enforcement, with Tier 1 resulting in the most extensive enforcement because we believe that these entities have the most direct ties to offline harm.
Tier 1: This focuses on entities that engage in serious offline harm โ including organising or advocating for violence against civilians, repeatedly dehumanising or advocating for harm against people based on protected characteristics, or engaging in systematic criminal operations. This tier includes hate organisations, criminal organisations, including those designated by the United States government as specially designated narcotics trafficking kingpins (SDNTKs), and terrorist organisations, including entities and individuals designated by the United States government as foreign terrorist organisations (FTOs) or specially designated global terrorists (SDGTs). We remove Glorification, Support and Representation of Tier 1 entities, their leaders, founders or prominent members, as well as unclear references to them.
In addition, we do not allow content that glorifies, supports or represents events that Meta designates as violating violent events โ including terrorist attacks, hate events, multiple-victim violence or attempted multiple-victim violence, serial murders or hate crimes. Nor do we allow (1) Glorification, Support or Representation of the perpetrator(s) of such attacks; (2) perpetrator-generated content relating to such attacks; or (3) third-party imagery depicting the moment of such attacks on visible victims. We also remove content that Glorifies, Supports or Represents ideologies that promote hate, such as nazism and white supremacy. We remove unclear references to these designated events or ideologies.
Tier 2: This includes Violent Non-State Actors that engage in violence against state or military actors in an armed conflict but do not intentionally target civilians. It also includes Violence-Inducing Entities that are engaged in preparing or advocating for future violence but have not necessarily engaged in violence to date. These are also entities that may repeatedly engage in violations of our Hate Speech or Dangerous Organisations and Individuals policies on or off the platform.
We recognise that users may share content that includes references to designated dangerous organisations and individuals in the context of social and political discourse. This includes content reporting on, neutrally discussing or condemning dangerous organisations and individuals or their activities.
In line with international human rights law, our policies allow discussions about the human rights of designated individuals or members of designated dangerous entities, unless the content includes other glorification, support or representation of designated entities or other policy violations, such as incitement to violence.
In an effort to prevent fraudulent activity on the platform that can harm people or businesses, we remove content and action on behaviours that intend to defraud users or third parties. Therefore, we remove content that purposefully intends to deceive, willfully misrepresent or otherwise exploit others for money or property. This includes content that seeks to coordinate or promote these activities using our platform. We allow people to raise awareness and educate others as well as condemn these activities, unless this includes content that contains sensitive information, such as personally identifiable information.
We recognize the critical importance of maintaining a safe and trustworthy environment for our community members. Our zero-tolerance policy for fraud and deception reflects our unwavering commitment to upholding ethical standards and protecting our users from dishonest practices that threaten their safety and well-being.

Together, we can combat fraud and deception, preserving the integrity of our platform and promoting a culture of honesty, transparency, and trustworthiness.
Nudity and sexual activity
We restrict the display of nudity or sexual activity because some people in our community may be sensitive to this type of content. In addition, we default to removing sexual imagery to prevent the sharing of non-consensual to underage subjects or people who may find this content disturbing.
Note:
Restrictions on the display of sexual activity also apply to digitally created content unless it is posted for educational, humorous or satirical purposes.
Our Nudity Policies have become more nuanced over time. We understand that nudity can be shared for a variety of reasons, including as a form of protest, to raise awareness about a cause or for educational or medical reasons. Where such intent is clear, we make allowances for the content.
For example, while we restrict some images of female breasts that include the nipple, we allow other images, including those depicting acts of protest, women actively engaged in breast-feeding and photos of post-mastectomy scarring. For images depicting visible genitalia or the anus in the context of birth and after-birth moments or health-related situations, we include a warning label so that people are aware that the content may be sensitive. We also allow photographs of paintings, sculptures and other art that depicts nude figures.
Yumify is a place where people can come to discuss or learn about sexuality, sex or reproductive health. We are mindful that certain content may not be appropriate for young people, may be considered offensive by some, or may create the potential for exploitation. We do not allow sexual activity or services.
